at the bag drop a cheerful young man will take your orlando clubs out of your car and load them into your golf cart. you head into the pro shop and are greeted with a dynamic display of the best golf hotel accessories in existence, and at reasonable prices. if you have a few minutes before your round of golf, there is a lighted practice range near and putting green. the par-72, 18-hole course is a thing of beauty, with rolling hills throughout the fairways, universal and 75 sand bunkers positioned studios strategically throughout the course. every green is protected by two, three and sometimes even four sand bunkers, so if you are not precise with your approaches orlando shots, expect to be hacking sand. the greens are finely manicured, but not too fast, which is a relief if you usually putt to the back of the cup.

the staff’s warm welcome was a perfect way to begin a wonderful getaway. for a few wonderful days, my husband and i indulged ourselves in hotel all the delights this spotless jamaican "all-inclusive" offered. for starters, near and universal the resort has one of the island’s studios best beaches, a glorious three-mile stretch of white sand. a day didn’t go by without at least a couple of hours there. we didn’t stay all day only because the crystal-clear caribbean was far too tempting to resist. my particular orlando passion, water-skiing, was tailor-made for couples. the rest was up to the caribbean and us. needless to say, we had a fabulous time. away from the water, we enjoyed socializing with the other, mostly friendly vacationers. typically, there’s a pleasant mix of people at couples, from retired snowbirds to honeymooners. and this trip was no exception. we made plenty of new acquaintances, especially while we were dining.
